Commercial counsel / legal counsel to SPP

Background

SPP is part of the Storebrand group, one of the leading insurance companies in the Nordics and the most sustainable insurance group in the world. SPP is now looking to recruit an inhouse legal counsel with a strong commercial mind and some regulatory knowledge.

Scope of the role

The role is to ensure consistent legal management of proposals and contracts. This generally includes oversight of the proposals process, as well as being part of development of specific standards for proposals and submission, contract negotiations and document management.

The the legal counsels role requires close collaboration with various internal departments, primarily sales.

You will lead contracts management and act as the prime point of contact across to provide commercial and legal advice to stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Your responsibilities will include development and execution of strategies and processes and managing and leading ongoing contracts and negotiations in bidding processes, as well as build and maintain external legal counsel relationships, and leverage when applicable. You will also be responsible for educating stakeholders within your area of expertice. You will be part of SPP’s legal team and report to the General Counsel.

Competence

We are looking for a skilled lawyer with at least five years relevant work experience from international business environment. Key-skills are negotiation and bidding/proposals experience. Experience from the financial sector is a plus, as well as relevant regulatory knowledge.
